(Two positions annually one starting in August and one starting in February)
We are looking for enthusiastic and inovative educators to join our Tremont teaching team. Seasonal Teacher/Naturalist assist in all aspects of implementing this residential environmental education program including teaching daily classes mostly with youth and occasionally with adults, conducting evening programs, planning and implementing programs, and assisting in overall facility operations.
Tremont Teacher/Naturalist will have the opportunity to develop/implement lessons concerning cultural and natural history of the Smoky Mountains region, provides leadership, direction, assistance and guidance to program participants who attend our residential programs.
Experience and Education:
Educators interested in applying for this position should have a Bachelor’s degree in education or science with course work in natural science, natural history, or closely related field.
We are also looking for people with one year’s previous experience and/or training involving environmental education program leadership, recreational camp leadership, mountain hiking, camping, and interpersonal relations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Wilderness First Responder and CPR training highly desired.
Housing Requirements:
Position requires employee to reside on premises of Institute, with residence and utilities provided by Institute. Employee must provide their own phone service (cellular phone service is not available on site).

Salary:
This position pays $250.00 per week and includes housing and meals. There are no benefits included in this position.
