Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont is seeking a dynamic and experienced food services professional to support Tremont’s mission and food service goals by helping to manage a progressive fast moving food service team at our residential environmental education center.
TREMONT FOOD SERVICE GOAL
Tremont’s food service supports Tremont’s mission by providing those in residence with quality meals and foods that are nutritious, and that reflect an attitude of sensitivity toward and connection to the natural world. Tremont serves groups of both children and adults who live at Tremont within Great Smoky Mountains National Park for three to ten days.
Tremont’s Food Service Assistant Manager provides leadership, dependability, and food service skills to help ensure excellence in performance of all aspects and operations of food services, including production, safety, inventory, and menu planning. Responsibilities may include cooking, leading shifts, training, scheduling shift assignments, maintain time sheets, and payroll records.
This position provides a self-motivated food professional an opportunity to use their skills to help Tremont Institute deliver the highest quality meals & service for thousands of people who come to live and learn inside the national park. It requires initiative combined with a strong work ethic and integrity. An enthusiastic, innovative, team leader with good communication skills. Minimum: 3 years in food services demonstrating experience as a team player, managing inventory, and setting a high standard in food services . Minimum High School diploma; Culinary training desirable.
