Fall Spectaculars To Provide Splendid Views

(Townsend) It is the most visited time of the year in the Smokies, fall. Great Smoky Mountains at Tremont knows how to do fall with their in-depth programming of connecting people and nature. There are many hikes planned for programs that will not dissapoint the participant who wants to connect in fall of 2007. The aptly named Autumn Splendor Weekend is a weekend scheduled at the peak of autumn's performance. Participants's will spend the first two days exploring forests of the Smokies and searching for fall fruits and other treasures of the trees. The evenings come well equipped with special evening presenters, educational presentations and entertainment.

"Finding yourself in an old growth forest can be humbling knowing how tall old a tree looks" states Kent Jones, Marketing Assistant for Tremont. "And the understory or the forest floor is different in these places. It's almost like hallowed ground." Participants can experience a little of what the forestation did to the park many years ago and compare what it could have been today by hiking into the grand giants of the park still standing.
