An Appalachian Celebration
(Great Smoky Mountains) – Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, in partnership with Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, is pleased to welcome renowned naturalist and storyteller Doug Elliott to our 3rd Annual Appalachian Celebration, which takes place July 11th at 7 pm at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center Amphitheatre. Adults and children of all ages will enjoy this engaging performer.
Elliot is a passionate naturalist, herbalist and folklorist, as well as an accomplished author. Using regional dialects, and accompanied by his harmonica, Elliott presents back-country lore with a humorous spin.
The 3rd annual Appalachian Celebration is the perfect family outing, so be sure to bring the kids! Admission is $5 per person at the door for adults, and free for children 12 and under, and for Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center members. Refreshments will be available for purchase, and visitors are encouraged to bring a chair or towel to sit on.
