A Different Kind of Family Vacation
(Great Smoky Mountains National Park) – Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont provides a week of fun and learning for the entire family this summer with Smoky Mountains Family Camp. This week-long family adventure lasts from June 30th through July 5th, and is packed with activities designed to bring families together and educate them about the wonders and diversity inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Smoky Mountains Family Camp is an all-inclusive adventure. In addition to providing lodging and a variety of fun and educational activities, Great Smoky Mountains Institute’s staff provides three well-balanced meals each day. Hiking, campfires and salamander searches are some of the unique activities that set Smoky Mountains Family Camp Week apart from other vacations, and hikes are divided into three difficulty levels so that every family member from the novice hiker to the seasoned explorer can join the fun.
While traditional family vacation venues can be noisy and crowded, Smoky Mountains Family Camp takes place inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Families will have just as much running, playing, water-splashing fun as they do on the average summer vacation, but Smoky Mountains Family Camp’s natural setting also offers opportunities for more peaceful memories to be made.
As mom Emily Williams from Hickey, NC says, “It’s like having the best parts of camping without the worse parts.”
Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont has been connecting people and nature since 1969 by providing in-depth experiences to hundreds of thousands of people of all ages through residential educational programs designed to nurture appreciation of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, celebrate diversity, and foster stewardship.
