Citizen Science Best Practices Publication
The Director's Guide to Best Practices in Citizen Science - part of a professional series of best practice for nature centers and similar organizations. This is a Tremont product that ANCA felt worth publishing created by former Tremont citizen science director's Michelle Prysby and Paul Super and a group of citizen science leaders that gathered at Tremont in 2003. Volunteer Opportunities
Does spending your free time searching for salamanders, monitoring monarch butterflies, banding birds, or identifying insects sound fun? We have several volunteer citizen science activities that offer students and adults an opportunity to assist with scientific research projects to collect real and relevant data for the park. Volunteers choose one or more projects and commit to training and collecting data for that project. In return, they gain skills in scientific research, experience to prepare them for a career or college program in science, and the knowledge that they have made a contribution to protecting and understanding the resources in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
