Where does the river begin and end? It sounds simple, but this course will explore the unique ecology of aquatic systems in the southern Appalachian mountains, particularly as it relates to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In addition to exploring aquatic ecology first-hand during field trips, you’ll expand your knowledge about aquatic macroinvertebrates, habitats, and conservation issues through classroom discussions.

Cost: $420
Registration includes instruction, food, and lodging in our dorm inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This is one of eight core courses in the Southern Appalachian Naturalist Certification Program (SANCP).
