**Note that in March we will meet Thursday March 25th due to Knox and Blount County Spring break falling on our regular meeting date**

This month we will be joined by Dr. Sarah Jones, Education Manager with Project Budburst, as we explore the fascinating world of phenology-the study of the timing of natural events.

We’ll engage in activities we can share with our students, both in the schoolyard and with virtual learning, that get us thinking about what seasonal changes mean for us and our ecosystems.

Note that phenology is NOT just for science learners!! From history to literature, math to civics, the rhythm of our ecosystems has implications and opportunities for all areas of study. Join us!

More about project Budburst:

“Budburst is a collection of researchers, educators, gardeners, and community scientists working together to illustrate the human impacts on the natural world around us. We tell that story through data collection, data sharing, education, and personal connections.”

Certification of 1.5 contact hours of professional development provided upon request.

Please note that meetings are currently virtual, but we hope to transition to in-person meetings when it is safe to do so.
