Class Overview:

Join Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont to explore innovative outdoor practices and routines that can benefit your mental, physical, and emotional health – in any environment, at any time! We’ll step into the outdoors surrounding REI and discover the beauty and wonder of the urban environment. We’ll also provide tips of our favorite spots in Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness and Great Smoky Mountains National Park to practice routines of lifelong experiential learning, including focused journaling, nature photography, mindful observations, hiking, wildlife viewing, and more! Finally, we’ll end the session by discussing the latest research, trends, and advice regarding using outdoor time for establishing a sustainable sense of wellbeing.

Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont is an independent environmental learning center located in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Working with over 6,000 youth and adult participants each year, Tremont Institute has spent the last 50 years connecting people to the transformative power of nature.
