Public Meeting: Spruce Flats Falls Trail Improvements
Spruce Flats Falls, a hidden gem managed by Tremont Institute within Great Smoky Mountains National Park, has become a favorite spot for hikers of all levels. This scenic trail isn’t just a public treasure—it also plays a vital role in our K-12 outdoor education programs, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.
With increasing visitor traffic and recent extreme weather, the trail is in need of major upgrades to ensure its safety, accessibility, and natural beauty for years to come. To support this effort, Tremont Institute intends to apply for the Recreational Trails Program grant through Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation’s Office of Outdoor Recreation—and we want to hear from YOU!
