SUMMARY:Skills for Sharing Nature
DESCRIPTION:How do we share our love for nature with others? During this weekend-long course\, we will spend our time exploring ways to interpret the world\, while engaging and inspiring others with the great outdoors. \nIn this course\, you will hone your ability to develop and facilitate engaging experiences in nature\, help others find meaning in their experiences\, and tease out relevance when engaging with any subject matter. We’ll explore skills\, resources\, and strategies for making these meaningful connections while practicing our own naturalist skills. \nWhether you are a teacher\, park ranger\, parent\, grandparent\, artist\, community leader\, mentor\, or simply a nature enthusiast\, the skills and resources you gain in this course will empower you to positively impact your loved ones and community with the benefits of connecting to nature. \nRegister Now\n\nRegistration includes instruction\, food\, and lodging in our dorm inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  \nThis course is part of Tremont’s Southern Appalachian Naturalist Certification Program\, which consists of eight core courses. You have the option to enroll in individual courses or complete all eight to earn certification awarded by the University of Tennessee. If you have previously completed the “Interpretation & Naturalist Skills” or “Interpretation: A Teachable Art” course\, you are not required to retake “Skills for Sharing Nature” or “Naturalist Skills” to receive your SANCP certification. \nAlready Registered? Check out the welcome letter for required readings\, a tentative itinerary\, and other essential details for your stay. \n\nCover photo by Christina Bruno.
