Honoring the Work of Outstanding Educators During #TeacherAppreciationWeek
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! We want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to all the amazing educators who inspire and educate our youth daily. Thank you for modeling curiosity and kindness for your students – you are changing lives.
Throughout the week, we’ve been highlighting the efforts of some amazing teachers who go above and beyond to connect their students with content through the lens of nature. Enjoy exploring their stories below.
At Tremont, we’re known for providing high-quality immersive educational experiences to students in the Smokies. We’re equally committed to supporting teachers in their efforts to inspire and educate their students in their own schools. We strive to equip teachers with the tools and techniques they need to bring inquiry-based learning into their classrooms through efforts like:
- Hosting high-quality professional development programs like Teacher Escape Weekends
- Building a supportive virtual community of over 600 educators in our Schoolyard Network
- Offering cooperative teaching options for visiting school groups to enhance the relationship between teachers and students
We’re honored to be able to work with such a talented variety of educators from across the country, and we’re constantly inspired by their creativity, resourcefulness, and dedication to their students. (Check out the teachers we highlighted last year!)

It wouldn’t be Teacher Appreciation Week without taking a moment to recognize some of the amazing educators on Tremont’s staff. Huge shout out to our teacher naturalists: Alexis, Andy, Casey, Grayson, Jeremy, and Kathleen! Thank you all for modeling curiosity, creativity, and kindness for the thousands of students and campers who visit Tremont each year. (Get to know our staff.)
