Forum on Writing the Appalachians

You’re invited to an extraordinary evening of literary exploration with celebrated authors Annette Saunooke ClapsaddleJanet McCue, Frank X Walker, and Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Powers. These talented writers, each known for their diverse and captivating works exploring different aspects of Appalachia, will share stories and insights from their own experiences capturing the region’s beauty, culture, and challenges.

Event Schedule:

  • 6pm – Dinner in Denso Gallery for Tremont Writers Conference participants, authors, and VIP Host Committee ticket-holders
  • 7pm – Doors open for General Admission ticket-holders
  • 7:30pm – Program starts
    • Introduction by Catey McClary, Tremont President & CEO
    • Author discussion led by Richard Powers
    • Audience Q&A
  • Following – Book signings with all four authors

Books by each author will be available for purchase through Great Smoky Mountains Association.
