Learn by doing at Tremont’s second campus. Hands on the Land is this year’s limited series of practical, place-based programs that turn the Townsend campus into both classroom and workshop. Each program offers a different way to get curious, try something new, and deepen your relationship with the land. Learn more about our plans for the Townsend campus.
Some of the best meals begin long before anyone sits down at the table.
Spend the day with Tremont Assistant Kitchen Manager Josh Swann gathering, cooking, and sharing a meal with family and new friends. You’ll harvest ingredients from the second campus garden, gather around the campfire, and work together to turn what you find into something delicious. Along the way, Josh will share practical cooking skills and ideas you can bring home for your own family meals and outdoor adventures.
This day is as much about the experience of making food together as it is about what ends up on the plate. Expect plenty of hands-on participation, time outdoors, and the satisfaction of sitting down to a meal your family helped create from start to finish.
Come prepared for seasonal weather and an optional hike of less than one mile during the day. This program is designed for adults and children to participate together; ages 4 and up are welcome with accompanying adults.
Registration includes all materials, instruction, and lunch.
