Schoolyard Escapes are single-day professional learning experiences that invite educators to step outside, slow down, and reconnect with what’s possible in their own schoolyards. Designed for K–12 teachers across all subjects and experience levels, each Schoolyard Escape blends hands-on outdoor lessons, practical teaching strategies, and meaningful connections with fellow educators.

You’ll spend the day exploring how outdoor spaces – no matter their size – can support student engagement and academic learning. You’ll try new lessons, reflect with peers, and leave with ideas you can use right away in your own outdoor space –and earn professional development hours! No prior outdoor teaching experience required – just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
