Discover the joys of teaching in the outdoors and practice methods for harnessing your students’ innate curiosity as learners. You’re invited to the Schoolyard Escape, a combination of two of our popular educator programs, the Schoolyard Network and Teacher Escape Weekends.

During this single-day, in-person session, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • explore teaching standards applied in an outdoor setting
  • connect and share with other like-minded educators
  • try out new lessons you can take back to your schoolyard, regardless of your students’ age or the subjects you teach
  • earn your 7 hours of professional development

The Schoolyard Escape will take place at South Doyle Middle School in Knoxville, TN, and is open to K-12 educators across all subjects. No prior outdoor teaching experience is necessary – you don’t even have to have a big outdoor classroom! All you need is a willingness to try something new to engage your students.

Cost: $35 per person
Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and all course materials.
