Celebrate the arrival of spring with the Sierra Club National Outings Program, based at Tremont inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Both beginner and experienced hikers are welcome on this immersive trip that blends hiking, learning, and community in one of the most biodiverse regions in North America.
Each day you’ll head into valleys bursting with wildflowers, ridges greening with new leaves, and forests alive with migrating birdsong. Tremont’s naturalist staff will offer hiking options of varying lengths and difficulty, ensuring there’s a fit for everyone. Daily schedules begin with breakfast and a packed trail lunch, followed by guided hikes and time in the field.
Evenings are spent sharing meals in a community setting and enjoying enrichment programs that highlight the Smokies’ natural and cultural heritage — from ecology talks to music and storytelling. With comfortable lodging, hearty meals, and expert guides, the Spring Outing is an ideal way to experience the Smokies at their most vibrant.
