The All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory (ATBI) is a long-term study aimed at identifying and mapping all 80,000 estimated species in Great Smoky Mountains National Park (www.dlia.org). We contribute to this grand endeavor by continually recording interesting observations around Walker Valley and the Park.
iNaturalist is a fantastic tool for reporting nature observations. This global endeavor to document biodiversity is like Facebook for nature nerds. Dialog with other naturalists and researchers as you help each other identify findings.
Any visitor or participant at Tremont Institute is invited to post their nature observations to our ‘Around Tremont Institute’ project on iNaturalist.org. Your observations will enable us to better understand the diversity, distribution, and seasonality of life within these mountains.
