“The folks at Tremont are very approachable, personable, and inspiring. Every single conversation we have with a Tremont staff member is a positive one, and this friendly atmosphere fosters meaningful learning. We’re grateful to collaborate with you to train up-and-coming leaders in the field of fisheries, wildlife, and conservation biology!” – ‘Mountain Week’ teaching team for NCSU’s FWCB Summer Camp
“I was incredibly impressed and deeply grateful for my experience at Tremont and can’t wait to return. From start to finish, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully planned to create a meaningful and memorable experience for students and staff. The Tremont staff was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping students connect with nature and learning. Their passion and calm presence made such a positive impact, and it was evident how much care they put into every interaction. The activities were so well designed and engaging. From the hands-on exploration of salamanders to the awe-inspiring night sky observations, every moment offered rich opportunities for learning and discovery. It was a perfect blend of science, curiosity, and fun, and I truly appreciated how intentional and immersive the entire program was. Thank you for creating such an inspiring and supportive environment. It was an experience I’ll never forget, and I know it made a lasting impression on the students as well.” – Jessica Baalmann
“Tremont holds a special place in the hearts of Walton High School students and teachers. The place is part of it, but the people are the true heart of Tremont. Together, they provide the perfect environment. John D has such great knowledge and a quiet respect for place and people. Logan holds so much Tremont history and the perfect mannerisms to let kids shine. Lindsey, your joy is contagious. Andy, you show diverse aspects of nature and respect. Kathleen, you care so much about providing the challenge and curiosity that our students need. Kathleen, you help anchor our time at Tremont – especially Teacher Escape Weekends. Casey, your energy and care are so apparent. We return every year for the mountains and you.” – Tobie Hendricks
