Girls in Science Camp
June 8-13 | Price varies based on financial need | Apply by April 15
We’re taking science out of the classroom and into the great outdoors! Over six days and five nights, campers explore Great Smoky Mountains National Park, from its quiet valleys to its tallest peaks. They’ll work side by side with scientists and park rangers to search for salamanders, catch and release songbirds for long-term research projects, and even design their own field investigations based on the questions that excite them most.
Adventure is woven into every day — swimming in mountain streams, hiking wooded trails, sharing stories around the campfire, and experiencing the joy of discovery with new friends. Along the way, campers sharpen their curiosity, practice critical thinking, and learn to draw connections between the plants, animals, and patterns they encounter in nature.
For many girls, this may be their first overnight camp or their first big adventure away from home. Tremont’s experienced staff create a safe, supportive environment, with structured routines, caring supervision, and encouragement every step of the way. Lodging is comfortable and supervised, meals are hearty and kid-friendly, and the program balances independence with plenty of guidance — giving campers the confidence to try new things while knowing they are well cared for.
Thanks to the contributions of generous donors, we are able to offer Girls in Science Camp on a sliding scale, starting at $100. The true cost of the camp is $1,025, which includes food, lodging, and instruction; we encourage families to contribute the greatest amount that feels comfortable to them.
Ages: 12–15
Cost: $100-1,025 depending on financial need
Applications are due Wednesday, April 15, 2026. We will notify all applicants of their acceptance status on Friday, April 17. The order in which applications are received is not a factor in our selection process.
To make this opportunity available to as many girls as possible, priority will be given to those who have not attended Girls in Science before. If you have attended in the past, we encourage you to check out some of our other summer camps; scholarships are available!
