Seasons of Connection: Survival Skills
June 6 | $90 | Register Now
Be among the very first to learn, explore, and connect at Tremont’s second campus in Townsend. Seasons of Connection is a limited series of hands-on workshops for adults, led by Tremont’s expert educators. Discover new skills, deepen your relationship with the land, and help shape the future of Tremont’s newest campus.
Survival isn’t about conquering nature – it’s about learning to work with it. In this hands-on workshop with Tremont’s Kristen Ross, you’ll explore how to use the gifts the land provides to sustain life. We’ll practice two foundational skills: crafting shelter to protect you from the elements, and calling up fire by friction. Along the way, you’ll build adaptability, resourcefulness, and a deeper connection to the wild places around you.
Be prepared for short hikes, physical activity (including squatting, lifting, and kneeling), and the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands.
Registration includes all course materials. Bring your own lunch. The class will take place on Tremont’s second campus property in Townsend, adjacent to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
