Journey through time with us during our Walker Valley History event, featuring Living History Tours led by knowledgeable guides. Throughout the day, visitors of all ages will be able to explore key historical sites while learning about the people who have called Tremont home. It’s a day filled with discovery, nostalgia, and community spirit that shouldn’t be missed – and best of all, it’s free!

Walker Valley History Lineup:

Living History Tours (11am-12pm, 2-3pm)
Step back in time with our engaging Living History Tours! Our teacher naturalists will be your guides as you explore the rich history of Walker Valley. To participate, stop by the Tremont Visitors Center at 11am-12pm, or 2-3pm. The tour includes light hiking, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes.

A Home in Walker Valley Book Signing (11am-12:30pm)
Have a question about the history of this part of the Smokies? Tremont’s own Jeremy Lloyd literally wrote the book about Walker Valley, and we’re offering it on sale for one day only! Meet Jeremy, buy your copy of A Home in Walker Valley for just $6 (+tax), and get your book signed from 11:00 – 12:30!

Dig into the Tremont Archives (10am-4pm)
Delve deeper into Tremont’s fascinating history at our History Table, which will be located just outside the visitors center. Explore intriguing items from Tremont’s archives, available for viewing from 10:00 – 4:00. Discover relics and artifacts that tell the story of our community’s heritage – a must-see for history enthusiasts of all ages!

All-Day Treats and Savings (10am-4pm)
Take a piece of Tremont home with you. Throughout the day, all regular-priced items will be 15% off. Plus, we’ll have complimentary popcorn and refreshing lemonade for the whole family, generously provided by our kitchen team.
