Tremont Featured on PBS’s View Finders
Last fall, we welcomed Chris Greer and Paul Daniel to Tremont’s campus inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a day of exploration.
Chris and Paul are talented photographers and hosts of View Finders, an Emmy-nominated PBS show that explores the intersection between the natural world, the artist’s lens, and environmental conservation. As they travel, they highlight people who work to protect the natural world and share their creative process as they photograph these beautiful places.
Erin and Lindsey shared Tremont’s work – to educate and inspire others to care for, preserve, and protect the natural world – and gave Chris and Paul a sample of our programming. Together, they learned about macroinvertebrates and salamanders as bioindicators for water quality and ecosystem health. Later, Chris and Paul returned to Tremont’s campus to photograph the bridge to Girl Scout Island, a beloved spot used for educational programming.
While in the Smokies, Chris and Paul also met with some of our partners in this work: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Discover Life in America, and Friends of the Smokies. Enjoy the Smokies episode!
